This 67-unit development is an award-winning example of modern, sustainable living. The concept is simple – residences arranged around a generously-planted courtyard. Ground and Level 1 feature two and three-bedroom terraces, each with their own private garden courtyards; the 3 floors above comprise single level apartments with timbered decks.

A strong green element is carried through vibrant gardens, the relationship between indoors and outdoors, and the use of raw materials. We describe Botanica’s natural aesthetics as ‘uncooked muesli’ and this grew to be the touchstone for a project where off-form concrete, natural timber and steel, is complemented by interiors of natural textures and earth tones. A galvanised steel exterior frame ‘pockets’ the protruding balconies enabling climbing vines to thrive.
Including ten percent ‘affordable housing’ and designed to a high standard in terms of environmental and thermal considerations, Botanica achieved a ‘Homestar 6’ rating.
