We thank our client, Generus Living Group, for the opportunity to design a landmark community building for the Pacific Lakes Village and the wider community of Papamoa. Set to become the social heart of both Pacific Lakes and Pacific Coast villages, the design of The Pavilion has taken inspiration from its tranquil lakeside setting.

Here we have applied our design by research approach to the planning and development of the architectural form. The floor plan maximises lakeside connections throughout the building while providing shelter from prevailing winds – a distinguishing feature of the scheme. Important visual connections to Mangatawa Maunga and the adjacent Lake House have also been incorporated.
This well-appointed, community-focused facility will comprise a fully catered café and restaurant, hydrotherapy pool, cardio room, library, multi-purpose hall, salon, art studio and wellness room with administration and back of house facilities for staff.
Along with recognising Generus Living’s sustainable ethos and aspirations in the design, the project team has remained focused on delivering a community centre that will set the standard for facilities of this nature throughout New Zealand.
